The company was founded in 2000 to advance the financial and operational performance of healthcare providers. We have worked closely with companies to develop best practices for structuring their systems and capturing data to ensure our clients have the information needed to make sound decisions, manage their revenue stream, negotiate contracts and evaluate opportunities for growth.
Given the changes underway in the industry, healthcare organizations need to be lean (process oriented), smart (empowered with good information) and insightful (responsive to the needs of their customers). Our process helps companies achieve the triple aim of the industry – low cost – high quality – better health.
Our name has evolved with our scope of service. We are now called RUSH 360 to reflect the comprehensive nature of what we do and the value we add.
Shannon Smith is a healthcare strategist informed by her experience working with both prominent provider and payer organizations. She transitioned from public accounting to industry with Owen Healthcare, a pharmacy management company bought by Cardinal, and later joined Tenet. At Tenet, she gained a strong grasp of healthcare financial operations, physician alignment, capitation management and financial reporting. She joined Blue Shield of California in 1998 when consumer initiatives emerged. She worked closely with the senior executive team to evaluate acquisitions and other investments using the risk based capital formula, implement systems and establish policy.
In 2000, Shannon founded the RUSH GROUP to help providers improve their financial and operational performance. She has served as an interim executive to ASCs and hospitals, and advisor to technology companies, law firms and venture firms. She also developed an industry certification and a series of online training courses, has written numerous articles, spoke at industry conferences, served on the editorial board of a prominent industry publication and is active in several industry associations including HBA, HIMSS and HFMA.
From her work in the healthcare industry as an interim Administrator, Consultant and Advisor, Shannon has developed pricing and reimbursement expertise in several specialties including orthopedics, bariatrics, pain management, cardiology and OB/NICU as well as expertise in revenue cycle management and reporting. She also contributed to the white paper that cleared the way for payment of e-prescribing service.
In addition to client work, Shannon has developed several new solutions from ideation to bring transparency to healthcare pricing [Aarna Health] and to promote the use of exercise as an intervention in healthcare [Hello Workout Inc].
